This Sunday, April 29th, 2pm at La Plaza de Cultura y Artes downtown there is a special birthday celebration in honor of Dolores Huerta. The spirited, iconic civil rights leader will be turning 82. I just checked the website and $50 tickets are sold out but the next tier is $200. If you got the cash, this is a pretty good cause and fiesta. All proceeds go to the Dolores Huerta Foundation which does a lot of education work and outreach to low-middle class immigrant workers, giving them the tools and resources to become leaders of their communities and continue to fight la lucha. Lets go sing las Mañanitas a “SI SE PUEDE” Doña Dolores Huerta this Sunday!

My header above; “People Like Us” comes to mind and becomes a play on words at the same time. Watch the amazing Grace at the premiere of her documentary American Revolutionary talking about our responsibility to converse, reflect and self transform so we may continue to evolve as a human race and galvanize the revolution beyond us. In distinct auteur meets D2F fashion, American Nobodies is an original web series in which they film and introduce us to “Average […]

The theme of this year’s NALIP 2013 conference was “Spotlight on the Trillion $ Latino Market”, but it seems the only tangible currency the Latino community shares is the ‘trillion’ perspectives on the subject. Pushed to pierce through the brown and loud cacophony overheard this weekend, I’ve come up with; On one side there is […]
